I was deceived. First Man is a sneak attack on human greatness. That we humans could fly a man to the surface of the moon and return him safely to earth only 56 years after the Wright brother’s first airplane flight of 12 seconds and 120 feet is nothing short of positive proof that we humans are magnificent beings.This movie, First Man, is dedicated to proving the opposite. A hit job on America and American astronauts This film is a blatant attempt to assassinate the characters of American astronauts and a slap in the face of America. It is not surprising, given the film maker is a foreigner (and all the anti-American hatred in the world these days as our country surges back). The film-maker (a Canadian) should have made a positive film on a hero from his own country (Terry Fox, for instance). But that wouldn’t do, would it.
